Norfolk Learning Parnership relies on funding from a number of sources.
Investing in Communities
Norfolk Investing in Communities (IiC) is an exciting economic regeneration programme worth in excess of £10 million over the next 3 years to deliver interventions to tackle economic deprivation in Norfolk.
Investing in Communities' vision is to reduce deprivation and social exclusion in the most deprived areas of Norfolk, so that more people have the opportunity to realise their potential, contribute to the greater prosperity of the county and benefit from an improved quality of life by working in partnership, targeting the areas with the greatest needs and adding value to the existing programmes of local authorities and other public agencies.
IIC work towards achieving this vision by:-
- Ensuring that its investment meets identified gaps in mainstream service provision and provides a substantial body of evidence supporting the approach they are adopting.
- Ensures that their interventions are joined up and clearly demonstrate progression pathways for individuals into further learning or employment.
- Ensure that their investment sits within and complements local community plans and the investment plans of partners.
The Norfolk programme develops interventions which support three key strategic themes based on Skills, Employment and Enterprise.
Theme 1: Raise the skills aspirations and achievements of young people and adults from disadvantaged communities.
Theme 2: Raise the employment prospects of adults and young people from disadvantaged
communities.
Theme 3: Encourage an enterprising culture in disadvantaged communities
A decision was taken by EEDA to fully integrate IIC within the LAA. The IIC team are continuing to negotiate the practicalities of this and therefore 2008/09 is a transitional year for the programme.
IIC supports Shaping Norfolk's Future Strategic Goal Three "to reduce deprivation and social exclusion by increasing access to, and the quality of, employment and training through regeneration".
