Targets
The Leitch Ambition is that the UK should commit to becoming a world leader in skills by 2020. This means that nationally 95% of adults need to achieve functional literacy at Level 1 and functional numeracy at Entry Level 3.
- In Norfolk only 91% of adults are functioning at Level 1 literacy and only 81% functioning at Entry 3 numeracy.
- In many Norfolk settlements over one third of the adult population(16-74 yr olds) have no qualifications at all.
- Norfolk has approximately 800,000 people, 40,000 have literacy skills below Level 1 and 252,300 have numeracy skills below Level 1
The LSC Norfolk Skills for Life target for 2008/2009 is 9,404 achievements at Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2.
