Tourism and Leisure
In King's Lynn and West Norfolk the focus is on the Leisure and Tourism sector. This will look at all aspects of the Industry, such as, catering, accommodation, retail, sports and leisure and tourist attractions.
The aim is to deliver 6 hour taster sessions to small groups of learners (5 - 6 per group) with the opportunity for learners to move on to short courses (30 hours).
The Learner target groups are:
•· 14 - 16 disaffected learners
•· The homeless and vulnerably housed
•· NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
The taster day is designed to give learners a look at the Leisure and Tourism Sector. On a recent 6 hour taster, learners looked at:
•· Different components of the Leisure & Tourism Sector
•· Job roles and Skills required
•· Investigating personal skills
•· Working as part of a team
•· Investigating local facilities
The short courses will look at these areas in more depth, as well as:
•· Customer Care Skills
•· Working in different areas of Leisure & Tourism
•· Health & Safety
•· First Aid for Work
