The Association of Colleges in the Eastern Region (ACER) is a registered charity with a core aim to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the Learning and Skills sector. ACER supports member colleges through its representational role and membership services.

Connexions Norfolk
Connexions is for young people aged 13-19, living in England and wanting information and advice on getting to where they want to be in life. It also provides support up to the age of 25 for young people who have learning difficulties or disabilities (or both).

Cromer Learning Centre - Merchant's Place
Merchant's Place is a Community Resource and Learning Centre situated in Cromer town centre. It has a computer training suite, two meeting rooms which can be combined into one room for conferences and three confidential one to one interview rooms. All are available for hire with or without refreshments.
CUE EAST
CUE stands for Community University Engagement. CUE East is the Eastern region Beacon for Public Engagement – one of six nationwide (for details of the other five Beacons see What are Beacons? For details of the National Coordinating body see National Coordinating Centre.
CUE East is led by the University of East Anglia (UEA) and is a four year funded project to promote awareness, understanding and promotion of public engagement. The project runs from January 2008 to Dec 2011.

East Norfolk Sixth Form College
The College offers a broad based course provision currently including over 40 AS/A2 subjects, BTEC National Diplomas in Sports Science, Business Studies, Media, Public Services and IT; BTEC First Diploma in Sports, Public Services, IT and Media plus a range of GCSE subjects. Over the years the College has built up a record of well above average 'A' level results (consistently over 97% pass rate) and a strong reputation for a friendly atmosphere and caring community. In 2006 the College was in the top 20 of all colleges (over 400 in total) for the seventh consecutive year in the annual Guardian survey and the DfES Performance Tables.

East of England Observatory

Mentoring and Befriending Foundation
The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) provides guidance and support to organisations and practitioners involved in mentoring and befriending. As the national strategic body, MBF also works to influence policy and practice in the sector and across government.

National Construction College East - formerly CITB Bircham Newton
Established in 1966 by CITB the college boasts over 450 acres of training area, much of which is put to use for practical operative training.

Our mission is to offer people the opportunity to learn a variety of practical and non-cognitive skills in a live working environment. Our courses are run as community painting and decorating projects that help improve the living environments of vulnerable people. UCS University Campus Suffolk
University Campus Suffolk is the newest higher education institution in the UK, building on the strengths of the Universities of East Anglia and Essex who are the sponsoring institutions. The University of East Anglia (UEA) is an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 13,000 students.
UEA Mentoring Scheme
The UEA runs one of the largest student mentoring programmes in the country as is funded by Aimhigher Norfolk. This programme aims to contribute towards raising the aspirations of school students, particularly those from backgrounds with no family history of further education, and provide an insight into university life, to achieve a greater staying on rate into higher education.
Each year the Admissions and Outreach Office recruits around 100 UEA students from a range of disciplines, who support in the region of 400 school students from 26 of the county’s secondary schools and colleges.

Voluntary Norfolk
Voluntary Norfolk is the largest voluntary sector infrastructure organisation in Norfolk. They support the work of voluntary and community organisations through a range of free and paid-for services and by providing a voice for the voluntary and community sector within key partnerships in the county. Members of Voluntary Norfolk enjoy additional and discounted services over and above our general advice and information which is available to all.
Voluntary Norfolk manages three voluntary sector development forums in Great Yarmouth (GYVSP), North Norfolk (vcsTogether North Norfolk) and in Norwich city.
Voluntary Norfolk is the major volunteering organisation in Norfolk. They promote volunteering by managing three volunteer centres (Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Thetford), and a network of community volunteer co-ordinators based in local health premises. They also manage a range of specialist volunteer services, including a community transport scheme and advocacy, mentoring and befriending services.

West Norfolk Partnership
The West Norfolk Partnership is a group of key public, private and voluntary sector organisations who work together to improve services and the quality of life in West Norfolk. As well as local people, members of the partnership include representatives of the Borough and County Councils, the health and education services, housing providers, the police and voluntary sector.
Whole Organisational Approach
The Whole Organisation Approaches for Delivering Skills for Life Project is one of a suite designed to embed Skills for Life across post compulsory education aiming to explore how best to develop a whole organisation approach to Skills for Life.
It is closely associated with the Skills for Life Quality Initiative and will make a significant contribution to Success for All which is the Government's strategy for reforming the learning and skills sector.
35 pathfinder organisations have been selected in each of the nine regions, representing a number of sectors where the Skills for Life agenda is important.
KPMG, Cambridge Training and Development (CTAD), Learning and Skills Network (LSN), and The Experience Corps are delivering this project on behalf of the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA).
Youth Empowerment Seminars (YES!)
A website packed with resources and information about youth mentoring programs, peer mentoring and teachers as mentors, as well as at least 50 useful links to some of the top youth mentoring websites around the world. There is also a Blog Page describing a two year pilot school-based mentoring program run in three Australian High Schools in 2007/08 and a Blog Page for Parents and Teens written regularly.
