Gail Younge, Teacher/Adviser
During the academic year 07/08 two 30-hour embedded programmes were delivered in partnership with Community Music East. The first was based on digital music production and the second was based on film. The three learners were 14yr old boys from Sprowston High school, who are at risk of exclusion.
The Garage, Community Music East, The Museum Service and CCN received support generally with embedding Skills for Life and a contextualised workshop for vocational tutors.
Creative Arts providers were given advice with the development of a L1 Foundation programme with embedded literacy and numeracy. Delivery is scheduled for a September '08 start initially with CME and The Garage. NSAD will also be involved in taster sessions. Monitoring, support and advice will continue during these programmes.
During the spring term ‘08, the Skills for Life input on a pilot Teaching Vulnerable Learners course was developed and delivered.
